'Just like you cannot wear a swastika you cannot wear Make America Great Again': Georgia teacher is slammed for kicking two students out of class for wearing Trump slogan shirts
Remember when citizens respected their president?
I don’t mean when Barack Obama was president. I’m referring to the time when, regardless of your political affiliation, you mustered up respect for the President of the United States of America–understanding that this Republic we live in is one to be cherished and honored as such.
I think that was also about the same time that not every single person you crossed on the daily was absolutely bonkers crazy. Always ready and willing to draw the line and pick a fight.
Welp, teacher-activist types strike again.
And you know how they voice their disgust with our president? They take it out on children.
Super classy. Way to really encourage constructive dialogue in your classroom and build up the next generation.
According to Young Conservatives:
A teacher was caught on video telling students to remove their pro-Trump shirts because they’re basically swastikas and Neo-nazi slogans, according to Turning Point USA Saturday. The video, exclusively obtained by TPUSA, shows a high school teacher at River Ridge High School in Woodstock, Ga., telling her students, “You cannot wear a swastika to school … you cannot wear ‘Make America Great Again’ like that.”“Please go, at least for this class,” the teacher added. “I don’t care what you do in other classes.”
We have the video here.
Now, there are a number of troubling issues here.
Students were not actually wearing swastikas. There were no white supremacy symbols or gestures present.
Instead, what set off the teacher were their “Make America Great Again” t-shirts.
Basically, shirts that show their support for our president.
As the Daily Caller reports:
The video, exclusively obtained by TPUSA, shows a high school teacher at River Ridge High School in Woodstock, Ga., telling her students, “You cannot wear a swastika to school … you cannot wear ‘Make America Great Again’ like that.”“Please go, at least for this class,” the teacher added. “I don’t care what you do in other classes.”“Wait so both of them have to like flip their shirts inside out because it says Trump on the top?,” a person in class asked the teacher in the video, which was reportedly recorded Thursday.“Because it says ‘Make America Great Again’” the teacher replied. “The Neo-Nazis … I’m not saying about Trump, but the slogan,” resembles the white-supremacist Nazi group, the teacher said.
And yet, this teacher–who is paid by tax dollars–takes time out of her class to single out, judge, and admonish her students.
Nothing like a “teachable moment” to bully 16-year-olds.
Wouldn’t want a constructive dialogue. Would hate for people to “learn something” in school.
Instead, let’s just do a quick neanderthal activity and draw a line in the sand of who is “good” and who is “bad”.
We’d hate for anyone to engage in critical thinking skills and have their own opinion challenged.
How should the school board and administrators respond to this video?
How should tax-paying-Trump-supporter parents feel about this?
Heaven forbid anyone stands for the pledge of allegiance (and let us punish any teacher who asks her students to respect their country)…but teachers are allowed to bully students for supporting our president?
