Man Asks Woman Out On Date, Steals Her Car. Then Things Get Even Weirder.

A Memphis woman got one load of rude surprises when she went on a date with a man she knew from high school.
First, he was dropped off at her place because he had no car. Next, they took her car, only to wind up at a gas station where he asked her to go inside and get a cigar for him. Then when she came out, the car was gone, because he had stolen it.

And that wasn’t even the worst surprise: the man took her car to go on another date — with her God-sister.
Faith Pugh said she hadn’t communicated very much with Kelton Griffin after high school, but said, “He just out of the blue texted me and asked me to go out.” She told WREG, “I don’t know who dropped him off. He just got dropped off.” After they took off in Pugh’s black Volvo, Griffin said he couldn’t decide where to go. They finally stopped at an Airport Area gas station. Pugh said, “He asked me could I go in the gas station for him to get a cigar.”
Oops. Pugh said, “He drove off. I came outside and my car was gone.”
After Pugh’s mother picked her up, Pugh was texted by her God-sister, alerting her that Griffin had asked her out. Pugh responded, “I said, ‘Okay, well send me the address to where you at, and I’m on my way. Tell him to come on.’”
Utilizing the GPS on her God-sister’s phone, Pugh and her mother ultimately found him and her God-sister at a drive-in movie theater. Pugh said, “He let her drive, so she drove him to the drive-in. He didn’t even have any money. She actually paid their way to get in the drive-in just so I could get my car back.”
Police arrested Griffin.
Pugh asserted, “I hope he’s in jail for a long time. I never want to speak to him ever again.”
