Revealed: Dozens of children as young as EIGHT have been raped or abused by paedophiles on Tinder and Grindr because the dating apps are failing to enforce age restrictions

Dozens of children as young as eight have been raped or sexually abused by paedophiles on apps like Tinder and Grindr because they are failing to enforce age restrictions, shocking new figures reveal.
Police forces have investigated more than 30 incidents of child rape since 2015 where victims were sexually exploited after evading age checks on dating apps. One boy, 13, was raped or abused by at least 21 men.
There were a further 60 instances of child sex offences via online dating platforms, including grooming, kidnapping and violent sexual assault.
Police have investigated more than 30 incidents of child rape since 2015 where victims were sexually exploited after evading age checks on dating apps, including Tinder

The figures were revealed by 10 of 46 British police forces after a freedom of information request by The Sunday Times.
In one case, an eight-year-old child was groomed by a paedophile on an app before exchanging 'photos of a sexual nature'. He was arrested.
A 13-year-old boy from Yorkshire who had inputted a false date of birth on dating apps was sexually exploited by 21 men he met online, including two teachers.
And a 16-year-old girl from Nottingham with Down's syndrome was manipulated into sending photos of her genitalia.
Jeremy Wright, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, described the findings as 'truly shocking'.
He added: 'I will be writing to these companies asking what measures they have in place to keep children safe from harm, including verifying their age.
'If I'm not satisfied with their response, I reserve the right to take further action.'
Grindr said: 'Any account of sexual abuse or other illegal behaviour is troubling to us as well as a clear violation of our terms of service.
'Our team is constantly working to improve our digital and human screening tools to prevent and remove improper underage use of our app.'

Last week a man who spent the night with a 12-year-old girl who he thought was 19 and had met on a popular adult dating app was jailed for two-and-a-half years.
Carl Hodgson, 28, invited the child to his flat in Manchester city centre a few days after they first made contact via an app.
He pleaded guilty to causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, distributing an indecent photograph of a child and making indecent photographs of a child.
Tinder said it uses both automated and manual tools to moderate users, including scanning profiles for 'red flag' images, and said it also depends on users to report profiles that may belong to a minor.
A spokesman said: 'We utilise a network of industry-leading automated and manual moderation and review tools, systems and processes - and spend millions of dollars annually - to prevent, monitor and remove minors and other inappropriate behaviour from our app. We don't want minors on Tinder.'
It comes after Instagram pledged to ban graphic images of self-harm after Health Secretary Matt Hancock said social media companies 'need to do more' to curb their impact on teenagers' mental health.
The announcement followed the death of 14-year-old Molly Russell, whose family found she had viewed content on social media linked to anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicide before taking her own life in November 2017.

  1. Pedophile must have small penises or those kids must be really loose anyhow, look up because your redemption draweth nigh https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N2c_MpvAJc

  2. One must wonder of these reports. Like Crags list. Were these sights actually breading victims or was a vail of intimidation devised to limit availability of sexual meeting venues. After all if people are hooking up for free how can this be taxed? Adult Friend Finder along with multitudes of other pay for sights all averaging 40 bucks a month. More if falling into upgrades once you a member. Funny how profit reports are obscure for these total spent annually convincingly enough to conjure up stories to insure more Legislation wiping out 'no-pay' meeting sights. Anyone using Craigs List etc knew to meet somewhere public before committing to compromising situations. Poor judge of character is not a great attribute. I'm sure horrific events may have occurred however it's akin to closing down Bars forcing players to cover charged establishments. A reaching analogy I admit but close enough for 'Rock n Roll'.....

The word is Pedophile, not Paedophile!

    1. No asshat it is paedophile, the fact that this concept is too difficult for the Americans to work out is your problem.
"A paedophile is a person, usually a man, who is sexually attracted to children.
Used Occasionally. paedophile is one of the 30000 most commonly used words in the Collins dictionary "
Comes from Greek word Pa'id for boy, not from greek word Pod or Roman Ped for foot. (Podiatrist, Pedal)
"pedo-, paedo-, ped-, paed-, paido-, paid-
      (Greek: child, boy; infant)
The British tend to use paed- while those in the United States tend to use ped-.
Remember that the Greek ped- means "child" while the Latin ped- means "foot".
Don't confuse this Greek element with another Greek pedo- which means "ground, soil, earth"."

Just as Honour and Valour have a 'u' in them, as does behaviour.
Just as 'freedom fries' are actually chips.
