Trespassers in Canadian town Dildo are warned not to take selfies with huge Hollywood-esque sign that was gifted to residents by Jimmy Kimmel (6 Pics)

Trespassers in the Canadian town of Dildo have been warned against climbing up a Hollywwood-esque sign of its name which was a gift to the town from the comedian Jimmy Kimmel.
Kimmel put the Newfoundland town of 1,200 residents on the map in recent episodes of his show after launching a spoof mayoral campaign to lead it.
As a parting gift, he gave its residents a sign, similar to the one which looks over Hollywood, with its name in large, white letters.

Kimmel unveiled it on his show on Thursday.
Since then, trespassers have passed through private property to try to take photographs with it.
Andrew Pretty, committee member for the local service district, told CBC that 'no trespassing' signs have been put up since to try to deter people from the area.
If people continue to ignore it, he says the town will take the sign down.
Kimmel launched his tongue-in-cheek campaign two weeks ago and has devoted a segment of his late-night show to it ever since.
He sent his sidekick, Guillermo, to the town for it.
Some residents embraced the joke and have welcomed the 'Jimmy loves Dildo' signs that have gone up around town since the comedian found out about its name.
They also participated in Kimmel's joke and named him the town's first honorary mayor.

But some, who have long  been tormented about the town's name, said they wanted the comedian to look beyond it and see what was most important the town - its people.
Resident Gerald Smith, who posed for the 'Captain Dildo' sign which Kimmel posted on Twitter, was among them.
'It will run its course,' he told CBC.
The town's residents refer to themselves as Dildoians and say that far from being named after a sex toy, it likely takes its name from a pin that was often used in row boats and was also called Dildo.
Another theory is that it was named by a Spanish sailor in the 16th Century.
