Father is found dead with multiple stab wounds and his throat crushed in his Florida hotel room after he was heard arguing with homeless convicted killer who was staying there as part of city's efforts to stop coronavirus

A homeless convicted killer who had been staying at a South Florida hotel as part of an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus has been charged with fatally stabbing and stomping on the throat of a married father from Massachusetts.
Recently released court documents showed that Charles Morgan, 59, a married-father-of-one carpenter from Martha’s Vineyard, was on his way to visit family in West Palm Beach when he checked into the Rodeway Inn & Suites in Dania Beach on August 1 because of bad weather in the area.
While there, investigators said Morgan crossed paths with Alphonso Washington, 59, who had been staying at the hotel for two months as part of an effort by Fort Lauderdale officials to house homeless people.

Morgan checked in about 9pm and early the next morning asked the front desk clerk about a check cashing store, arrest reports first cited by Sun-Sentinel said. When he returned to the hotel he had breakfast and then left in a cab to go to Walmart.
Later that morning, Morgan returned to room 3104, the report said. Investigators also said that Washington had been seen following Morgan that morning.
Just after 10am, Washington got into an argument with Morgan, who was sitting outside his room on a chair, the report said.
Surveillance video from the hotel skips at that point, but police believe the men entered the room together. At 10.13am, Washington is seen leaving the room, sitting in the chair outside, and then pacing around the area until almost 11am.
Around that time, a housekeeper passed by and overheard an argument between two men. She told investigators she recognized Washington’s voice from previous interactions with him.

The video shows Washington leaving the room at almost 12.30pm. He was carrying a blue bag.
Morgan was found naked in the hotel room bathroom later that day. His larynx was crushed so severely that it would have had to be caused by 'using a shoe and stomping on a person’s throat,' the arrest report said.
The medical examiner who performed Morgan's autopsy also concluded that he sustained a severe blunt force trauma to the head.
According to a complaint affidavit obtained by DailyMail.com, police initially believed Morgan's death may have been self-inflicted, but upon closer examination they concluded that he was the victim of a homicide.
The document lists the many wounds the victim had sustained, including lacerations to his neck, chin, leg and groin.
'There was also an unknown black object lodged in the victim's anal cavity,' the document stated.
Washington’s roommate told investigators Washington washed his clothes in the sink before leaving with an iPad that he had never seen before. Police searched the room and found a white face mask with 'Martha’s Vineyard' imprinted on it.
When Washington returned to the hotel, he agreed to go to police headquarters to talk. He said Morgan had brought marijuana to the room and hugged him.
Washington denied killing Morgan. The arrest report doesn’t list a motive for the killing.
Washington was booked into the Broward County Jail on charges of murder and parole violation. He appeared in court last Thursday and was ordered held without bond.

Court records show Washington has a lengthy criminal history, including a conviction for killing a woman in Homestead in 1985.
Washington was staying at the hotel in Dania Beach after Fort Lauderdale handed out free vouchers in May to get homeless people off the street to help stop the spread of coronavirus, which has been ravaging Florida in recent months.
When the city’s program ran out of funds last month, the activist group New Florida Majority raised money to keep more than 30 homeless people, among them Washington, in the hotel, reported CBS Miami.
Charles Morgan was a carpenter and builder who lived in Martha's Vineyard with his wife, Jackie, and their daughter, Mary.
'I don’t have any words, except that we are just devastated and I will miss my husband so much,' wife Jackie Flynn-Morgan told Martha's Vineyard Times.
He was remembered by those who knew him as a hard worker and a 'salt-of-the-earth' person, according to his friend Joe Keenan

  2. instead of arguing with the homeless, help them, feed them, clothe them, give them money. treat them like you want to be treated.

  3. Wow! another black on white crime and yet no mention of it in the whore media. Just another disgusting violent nigger.

One thing I hate about articles like this is that they try and get more sympathy for the victim because he was a father. I wonder if the guy was single with no kids if he would get this attention. Whenever a mother or father gets killed the article always make sure to say that in the headlines. Do you ever see single man with no kids is murdered in the headlines?? A victim of a crime regardless if you have kids or not is still a victim and all should be treated the same.
