‘How shocked are we that 17-year-olds with rifles decided they had to maintain order when no one else would?’: Fox News host Tucker Carlson is accused of 'justifying murder' in commentary on Kenosha gunman charged with killing two protesters (14 Pics)

Fox News host Tucker Carlson has been accused of justifying murder by claiming on Wednesday night that the teenage Kenosha gunman charged with killing two protesters was 'maintaining order when no one else would'.
'Are we really surprised this looting and arson accelerated to murder? How shocked are we that 17-year-olds with rifles decided they had to maintain order when no one else would? Everyone can see what was happening in Kenosha.
'It was getting crazier by the hour,' Carlson said during a seven-minute sermon on the Kenohsa riots on his show.
He was referring to Kyle Rittenhouse, a 17-year-old Trump fan who was filmed patrolling the streets of Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Tuesday night with an illegal AR-15, claiming he was a 'vigilante' who was there to protect businesses. He has been charged with first degree murder.
Carlson's remarks immediately sparked outrage on Twitter, where critics claimed he was justifying violence and might incite further mayhem. Some called for him to be fired and others demanded a boycott of his advertisers until they dropped him.
A Fox News spokesman declined to offer a network comment on Thursday morning and instead pointed to a tweet by Carlson where he said 'Kenosha devolved into anarchy because the authorities abandoned the people. Those in charge, from the governor on down, refused to enforce the law.
'They’ve stood back and watched Kenosha burn. Are we really surprised that looting and arson accelerated to murder?'

#FireTuckerCarlson is now trending and celebrities including Jon Favreau and Billy Eichner are among those leading the charge.
They said he was merely pointing out how out of control America in 2020 had become.
Rittenhouse was on Wednesday the following day in his hometown of Antioch, Illinois, 20 miles away on suspicion first degree murder.
He is accused of shooting dead two protesters, whose deaths were captured in disturbing videos from Tuesday night's riots.
Other videos from the night showed the teen appearing to surrender to police, walking towards them with his hands in the air while protesters around him screamed at the cops to arrest him because he'd 'just shot' multiple people.
They let him go.
Earlier in the night, the cops gave out water to a group of armed militia, like Rittenhouse, and thanked them for coming to join them to protect the city.
The shootings and the growing number of armed vigilantes on the streets of Kenosha - where a 7pm-7am curfew is now in place' - has sparked debate about the role of police in America and how civilians have begun stepping into defend their cities.
Carlson said during his segment on the subject that America had devolved into chaos since the first George Floyd protest in May because law enforcement was not doing its job.
'As of tonight we really don't have more details.
'We do know why it all happened though. Kenosha has devolved into anarchy because the authorities in charge of the city abandoned it.
'People in charge from the Governor of Wisconsin on down refused to enforce the law.
'They stood back and they watched Kenosha burn.

'Everyone can see what was happening in Kenosha, it was getting crazier by the hour.
"Kill the police!", "Death to America!" that's not Iran. It's Wisconsin. It could have been a dozen other places in this country.
'The violence has been building unabated for three months now. Every day the mob becomes more radical,' he said.
Carlson went on to praise Republicans including Rudy Giuliani and Richard Nixon, and said 'underneath it all, everyone hates lawlessness'.
'Nixon was not a charming man, no on ever longed to have a beer with him.
'Yet Nixon managed to win what is to this day the single biggest blow out in American history. The 1972 election.
'How did he do that? Nixon was for order, his opponent was for chaos.
'Our cities are burning because the people in charge have allowed them to burn,' he said, adding: 'If federal prosecutors had treated the organizers of BLM and Antifa the way they had treated Roger Stone, our cities wouldn't look like Kosovo tonight.

'But they didn't do that. Instead, the enforced standards selectively.'
'Our leaders want us to believe that this is all a racial conflict, they're always telling us it is. But they're lying.
'It is not a racial conflict. At its deepest level, the chaos they have unleashed have very little to do with race. Most Americans are not bigots. Unlike CNN, they are not fixated on skin color, they don't really care most of them.
'What you're watching is more sinister than that. What you're watching is an effort by the academic left, funded by big business, to crush the last remaining resistance to their control of the country and that resistance is an independent, American middle class.
'That's who they really hate. This is not a race war. This is a class war. Remember that,' he went on.
It feeds into the theme of the Republican National Convention where all throughout this week, senior Trump aides and relatives have warned voters the country will not be safe from the riots, looting and violence seen in recent months unless he is re-elected.
On Wednesday night, Vice President Mike Pence said the country would not be 'safe' in Joe Biden's America.
Trump is using law and order as a campaign cornerstone and has done throughout the summer, since riots and protests erupted all over the country.
