Dutch has enjoyed considerable status in the United States of America, mainly because of the northeast of the country's past as a Dutch colony. In 1626, the Dutch bought the island of Manhattan from the Indians for sixty guilders. They founded a large colony (in area), from New Hampshire in the north to the coast of Maryland in the south, which they called New Netherland. The capital, New Amsterdam, came to Manhattan, where the (business) center of New York is now. without the netherlands, you wouldn't have had a usa !!
How come the Dutch wear wooden shoes? So they don't bite each other's toes while eating.
