Video: Scuba diver cuts frightened 33ft sperm whale free from ropes tangled tightly around its lower jaw that anchored it to the ocean floor

 

After hearing about a tired whale whose lower jaw got entangled with a rope eight miles off the country of Mauritius, a brave diver named Hugues Vitry knew he had to help the poor animal.

Mr. Vitry said that he could see the fear in the whale’s eyes, like that of a frightened horse, so he had to stroke him to calm him down.

The rope was so tightly wrapped around the jaw, using a knife would hurt the unfortunate 33ft sea mammal, so he opted to use a unique pair of scissors instead, he added.

The rope was removed from the water and taken back to port so other whales would not suffer the same fate.
