Watch: Ocasio-Cortez Appears Concerned GOP Laying ‘Groundwork for Regime Change’ in Cuba (5 Cartoons)

During an interview with Just the News reporter Nicholas Ballasy Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appeared concerned that “people are trying to lay the groundwork for regime change.”

At this point it’s best if we let our favorite socialist superstar Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez speak for herself via this short transcript:

BALLASY: “On Cuba you probably heard a lot of Republicans point to what’s going on there with the protest and say it’s evidence in Cuba that socialism and communism does not work in terms of economic systems. What would be your response to that?”

OCASIO-CORTEZ: “I mean, again, as I’ve said earlier, I think it’s disappointing that Republicans are trying to make this about them, and not centering on human rights violations of Cubans and what’s happening to the Cuban people. You know this isn’t right now, like, what we need to do is urgently support human rights, the right for free speech, the right for protest, and not try to vaguely allude to the possibility of U.S. intervention and regime change.”

BALLASY: “And you probably saw also some Democrats are saying it’s not just the embargo that’s the problem. The actual —“

OCASIO-CORTEZ: “No, it’s — it’s not. You know, this issue is, it’s not just one facet, but where the U.S. has historically been the most aggressive in and where, we, you know, in bringing up the embargo you’re pointing to the U.S. role and U.S. actions because if you leave that gaping opening, my concern is that people are trying to lay the groundwork for regime change.”

Being more concerned that the US is trying to lay the groundwork for regime change in Cuba than the plight of the people there is truly the problem of a first world socialist.

It’s a shame that Democrats, the media and those within the Biden administration seem so unconcerned with the plight of the Cuban people and their yearning for freedom.

JFK would be turning over in his grave to see what his party has become.
