All people do good or evil for various reasons, many of them selfish, but few to do with God. Assuming the lack of a belief in God makes one only do good for selfless reasons is like assuming your barber only cuts your hair because they like to sweep hair. Foolish.
The only foolish one is you. It does not say that. It says, quite clearly, when an atheist does good, he is not doing it because of some religion. I realise that this concept is beyond your comprehension.
Those on the cutting edge of quantum physics may beg to differ. Even Einstein when examining the probabilistic nature of quantum physics said "God does not play dice with the universe."
